Posted on July 6, 2010 | 3 CommentsI celebrated the 4th of July by dragging myself out of bed early to attend the American Colony Committee's 50th Annual 4th of July picnic right here in Alajuela. Based on previous family-oriented festival experiences, I was not expecting much of it and was surprisingly shocked when we entered the gates to see hundreds of joyous red-white-and-blue clad patriots bopping all over the extensive festival grounds. I don't know what he did for a living before he won the lottery, but now he is in the fruit business. He goes to the big farmer's market everyday and loads up on yummy fruits and avocados...
